2018 Run Walk Fundraiser

On Saturday, June 2, 2018 my family and I are hosting the 2nd Walter F. Burnett, Jr. Memorial Scholarship 5k Run/Walk Fundraiser. This fun, family event will begin at 8:30am, at William Land Park, 3800 S. Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA. Registration is $10 for children ages 12 through 17 and $20 for adults age 18 and above. Children under the age of 12 are free. T-Shirts will be available for $15. We are reaching out to past Scholarship recipients, and to St. Paul youth and young adults for help with registration and on the day of the event. Volunteers can receive community service hours.

This Scholarship has been awarded to high school seniors and current college students from single parent, grandparent and foster parent households each year since 2010. On Saturday, June 2nd we will be walking the 3.2 miles to honor the memory of my late husband, Walter, and his irrepressible spirit, and for the students we serve. Whether you choose to walk, jog or run won’t you join us?!
