Demesha was the very first recipient of this Award.  She was awarded $500.  Demesha gives credit to her very loving and supportive mother who sacrificed and worked very hard to support her children.  At the time of this award, Demesha was a junior in college.  She graduated in June 2011 with BA in Communications and Women’s Studies.
